Become a Mental Health Research Champion:

We want to raise awareness of mental health problems and suicide risk in autism. To do this, we need help from autistic people, and family members who support a person with autism – tell us your stories through a written blog post, poetry, art or sculpture. We want to know what needs to change with regard to supporting adults with autism who experience mental health problems, self-harm and thoughts of ending life.

Read our Champions stories below, or find out how you can become a Mental Health Research Champion by contacting us on: MHAutism.hls@coventry.ac.uk

Feedback:

This will be for us put the research participants/champions feedback comments about their experiences of taking part in our research.

Our research

MHAustim is working hard to understand why adults with ASC experience mental health problems, self-harm, and thoughts about ending life, so we can develop and lobby for better support. We are looking for volunteers to help us do this and you can help us in two ways.

We are currently developing an online survey that will explore why people with autism may experience self-injury, and thoughts of ending life. We are looking for volunteers with a diagnosis of an Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), volunteers who suspect they may have ASC, and volunteers without an ASC diagnosis to complete our online survey.

We are also interested in hearing from people with an ASC diagnosis, those who suspect they may have ASC, family and loved ones who support a person with ASC to become Mental Health Research Champions. Want to find out more?
